Minnesota Children's Initiative files, 1990-1998.

In August 1992, Minnesota submitted an application to the Pew Charitable Trusts (The Trusts) to be part of their Children's Initiatives Program, which called for states and communities to adopt a new way of working with families, reshape service delivery systems, and shift from a crisis-oriented, fragmented, and inadequate approach to one of inclusion and effective supports for all children. The state was selected as one of five states to participate in Stage 2. Participants in Stage 2 received a $100,000 grant to prepare detailed plans for implementing comprehensive reform based on their initial application.
